Thanks to the good folks at Cinema Nova, we’d like you to come along to an exclusive screening of director Richard Linklater’s movie ‘Bernie’, on Wednesday 15 August 2012 – ticket sales will help further fund post-production on ‘Graphic Novels! Melbourne!’.This screening of ‘Bernie’ is before the season of the film officially begins, and all tickets are $15, which is cheaper than usual – good stuff, eh?Linklater is the director who gave us ‘Dazed and Confused’(1993), ‘Before Sunrise’ (1995), ‘Waking Life’(2003) and ‘A Scanner Darkly’(2006).
In ‘Bernie’ he casts Jack Black (who was in Linklater’s ‘School of Rock’ back in 2003) in an adaptation of a true story, as a moustachioed mortician, beloved of his small American town, who gets together with an awful and rich (and really – awfully rich) widow, Shirley MacLaine. What will transpire? Oh, how to find out? Buy a ticket and come along! And please, wear a moustache to the screening – the best one will win a prize!
Tickets are by pre-purchase – or buy them at at the door on the night. Please use the Paypal button below. Cheers – our last fundraiser was a hoot of a night, and we’d love to see you at this one!
